Project Cancels July Show, Appoints New President

6/8/2010

Project trade show, which is held twice a year in Las Vegas and New York, announced that it has canceled its July dates for NYC and will relaunch that show in January 2011. Project, which was founded in 2003 by Sam Ben-Avraham, also announced that new President Andrew Pollard will take the helm. Ben-Avraham left his leadership position with the show to focus on a new business, but will remain on as a consultant, according to a report from SportsOneSource.com:

“Ben-Avraham, who founded the bi-annual New York and Las Vegas show in 2003, will remain as a consultant to the trade show. He runs the contemporary boutique chain Atrium, and also co-founded women’s fashion line Improvd in late 2009.

Advanstar Communications Inc., which acquired the show in 2005, said Project needed someone to direct its affairs full time.

Pollard co-founded the Kiki de Montparnasse lingerie lifestyle collection and boutiques in 2004. He started his career with Diesel Australia and worked as vice president of sales and marketing at Diesel Canada and Diesel USA. In 2000, he was vice president of sales at Sixty USA.
